My big girl.
Ayleen is growing so much.
She talks a lot and I'm really enjoying watching her develop her own personality.
She is very different then the boys, she is already very concerned that her hair looks nice in the morning, that she is wearing the right shoes and she makes an enormous effort to get dressed (mostly unsuccessfully) by her self, she changes her shirt at least twice a day... and tried to get away with picking her clothes. Her imagination is starting to take off and now she talks to her little stuffies, babies and the little people in the Playmobil that her brothers have. She loves whispering "secrets" that make no sense in my ear.
She has two dolls she puts to sleep every night and tonight she got out of her bed after I had turned the lights out with both her " babies" in hand, I threaten to spank her, and her babies, if she didn't get back in bed intermediately, her reply was a simple: -Please don 't spank my babies!, as she made her way back into her bed and prayed with them.
Silly little girl; she was more concerned about her babies getting a spanking than herself!!.

Mom: Benji, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Benji: I want to be a farmer.
Benji: does God supply what we want?

Candy
Friday night is usually pizza night. The kids really look forward to it all week, not only do they get to eat pizza but they can watch a movie as well.
This week for Friday night we had some friends of the home visiting for the weekend. After dinner someone asked me if they could give my 2 year old some candy, since he was standing right beside me, he told them a confident " No, it's bad , you can die". I felt mixed feeling of embarrassment and pride . Right, you can die!.. well he knows the theory, in the practical is a little bit harder. :D

Smart Cookie.
Earlier in the day.
Son: Mom, is it family day today?
Mom: No, it's not family day today, you are sleeping in your room.
While brushing teeth and getting ready for bed.
Son: Mom, we are playing a game.
Mom: cool.
Son: Can you be my wife?.
Mom: oh , ok! Finish brushing your teeth.
Son: I'm sleeping in your bed.
Mom: (taken totally by surprise) what?
Son: I'm your husband, remember, you are my wife, I need to sleep with you.
Son 2: Mom, can I be your wife too?
Mom: hummmm....

Dumbo

You know how small kids and even babies have a little confort thing that they do, it could be anything from playing with their hair while they go to sleep, sucking their thumb or having to touch their mother's face while they nurse.
Alex has always had an affair with his ears. Since he was very small he would touch and play with his ear to go to sleep or relax, he wouldn't pull on them or anything like that, just run his fingers through it. Even though I constantly correct him for it and told him all the horrible things that could happen to his ear like fall off or break , I would never tell him things like he was gonna get big ugly ears and all that the other kids would make fun of him, because I didn't want him to get any kind of complex about his ears.
Dumbo is one of his favourite movies. There's something very touching about that little elephant with his big blue eyes and huge ears.
A few days ago Alex was fiddleling with his ear again so I told him that they were gonna get big and ugly if he kept touching them. His enthusiastic reply was:
-Mom, that would be super cool because then, I can fly!!!
-Humm, not quite Alex!.

Cute.
Kids sure have their own way of interpreting things. My son gets 10 pesos a week, that's his allowance, he usually buys an ice cream or a bag o chips and then puts his remaining coins in a little wallet that was given to him. It teaches him the value of things and he gets to decide what he wants to spend his money on. Being a cancer he's quite saving. Today he decided to count all his little coins, so he asked me for his wallet, took them all out on his bunk and counted them. A few minutes later he pipes out:
- Mom, I have twelve moneys, guess what? I'm rich!!.

Delusions of Grandeur.
I’ve been trying to teach my oldest four year old son responsibility; so the other morning I asked him to watch the baby while I left the room for a few minutes to get something from downstairs. I laid her on the bed and gave her a few hand toys and told my son that he was “in charge” of taking care of her until I got back.
I left the room, went downstairs, did what I had to do and as I came into my room I saw quite the sight; the baby was on the bed looking up to my son which was standing big and tall next to her on my bed, and he goes on to say with a very serious face:
- Ayleen, I don’t think you really realize how big I am.
I had a good laugh; I guess he was feeling pretty important and powerful right then.

Rooster.
Our home schedule revolves around the kids, and since school is out, we’ve been enjoying some sleep ins, I say we, but by that, I really mean they.
Half in dream land and half awake a hear this odd noise:
“Cock-a-Doodle- Doo, Cock-a-Doodle- Doo” I turn over to face Benji sitting up on the bed looking at me with a big smile, he says: - See?....time to wake up!.
