A good year

I know that's the title of a movie but it just seam to suit the recent, collective thoughts of my mind.
I 've been doing a mental recap of this past year.
I find it a good exercise once in a while to take a look back , dust off memories, experiences or just remember how something made me feel, that is, after all what life is, our experiences and how we react to them.

This year:

I started a blog
met new great friends through this little insignificant page.
put a dent in our van
got my drivers license
was blessed with a beautiful baby girl.
got to know one outstanding person;
Friendship marks a life even more deeply than love. Love risks degenerating into obsession, friendship is never anything but sharing.
Had to rush one of my kids to the emergency room for the first time, it felt awful.
bought one new pair of shoes.
got my green card.
went to a Retreat.
Was deeply moved by Jesus is Enough and Perfect Love
Felt & experienced in my life the power of positive praise.
Took a trip to the US.
Had our first, only us, family vacation in Ixtapa.
Crossed the States of Michoacan, Jalisco, Zacatecas, Durango and Chihuahua.
Taught about 900 hours of school.
Commemorated my 7th year of sharing my life with someone.
Celebrated my 4th wedding anniversary.

.
. and those are just a few things, I have so much to be thankful for.
Just yesterday I went personal witnessing to the Children's hospital and I realized how much I have to be thankful for, here I am , having a trial that my daughter's front tooth is coming in divided in two pieces , what is that compared to not knowing if your 3month old baby is gonna make it having already undergone six operations? It's nothing... looking at the bright side... it's her milk teeth.

10 months.

This past month

I gave my first three steps on the morning of the 24th of December.
I can walk about 9 steps without tumbling down and falling.
I can stand up by myself, sticking my bottom up in the air, from sitting or laying down position.
I love climbing on top of anything I am able to, like boxes, small chairs, and beds.
I love trying to run away from mommy when she's trying to catch me.
I 'm a fast crawler and like going up the stairs. I specially love my brothers and really like getting tickled by them, I also like to have all their attention and I specially like it when they crawl with me, push me around in their tricycle or play crawling race with me.
I really like spaghetti, juice, bananas, apples and this month I don't like my food mashed up.
I can wave bye bye, clap my hands for please and point to things when I want to.
I 'm learning to flip the light switch and to sleep in my own bed, I don't like that so much, I like to cuddle with my mommy. I also need to learn to not tear tissue apart and not stick my hands in the toilet, my mommy says that's groce.

God is good.

I feel happy, even though this past year wasn't filled with exciting adventures, fellowship and trips to cool places.
I feel content, even thought I don't have a very showy ministry, showy gifts or showy talents. I feel at peace even though the battles were severe and I felt my strength run thin.
I feel good even thought this year was filled with personal sacrifices and forsakings.
I feel thankful even though I spent a lot of time away from people I care and love.
I feel grateful even though I felt my faith being tested and I don't think I scored to well.

Isn't it good to be alive...
Life is fair and God is good, there's a lot of truth in that little saying... the Lord recently brought that to my attention, I guess I'm pretty thick sometimes and I confess it wasn't a very easy lesson to learn.
I know He will more then repay every seeming sacrifice, wipe every tear and love every hurt away...I know I'll thank Him for the trials and the hard sayings.
I'm looking forward to Heaven.

Smart Cookie.

Earlier in the day.

Son: Mom, is it family day today?
Mom: No, it's not family day today, you are sleeping in your room.

While brushing teeth and getting ready for bed.

Son: Mom, we are playing a game.
Mom: cool.
Son: Can you be my wife?.
Mom: oh , ok! Finish brushing your teeth.
Son: I'm sleeping in your bed.
Mom: (taken totally by surprise) what?
Son: I'm your husband, remember, you are my wife, I need to sleep with you.
Son 2: Mom, can I be your wife too?
Mom: hummmm....

Happy New Years.

Happy New Years, I hope your upcoming year is filled with mostly love .
New Years was calm in comparison to Christmas Eve, I spent it the kids and they highlight of their evening was watching a good almost two hours of "Tom and Jerry", which they had never watched before, I have to agree they were funny and now I understand better why grown up men like cartoons... well sorta.
The kids keep asking me if they can watch the funny cat again and the rat.

More writing when I'm able to catch my breath around here. Other happy news is Lani is visiting and looking forward to some good, quality sister in law time.
It's bye for now... I'll be back soon, till then feel the love. kisses.

9 months.

She definetly monopolizes this little web space and I'm proud to announce she's also the star of my blog.

Growing so fast. She's started to stand on her on.
I don't know if I'm proud of this or a little ashamed, ahem, but of the three baby girls , she's the bully, maybe cause she has a couple brothers to toughen her up... I can already see her leading the other two little girls stray.

Loving the water.

This month she was real sick, in fact everyone has been sick.
I think there's a connection between Christmas push and flues.

A little bit of introspection and what not to be.

I was curios about that word so I looked it up and got this:
Introspection (
looking within) is the process by which someone comes to form beliefs about her own mental states.
So I took a good hard look at my self these last couple of days, since the Lord had actually been talking to me about something, and when it came down to it, I just kept on falling on the same pit.
Sad.
Today I concluded that I do fine with big things, a big problem comes around, situations less then ideal, the world crumbles around me and I keep my peace, I trust in the Lord, I know He has a plan and He's in control, I know it's gonna be just fine.

But when it comes to little things, I can't seam to trust the Lord enough.
Silly little things that in a few days won't matter to me or to anybody else and seam to get the better of me every time.
I want to change that, and since I wrote about it here, it will serve me as a reminder. I have no excuse. Plus, who wants to be a grouchy person that looses her groove over silly little things?

T´s Done.

As a fun Word time and devotions project the children in the home took the Activated 12 Foundation Stone´s course. God bless their teacher, Cristal, that made it fun and inspiring by making them look up verses in their Bibles, using Power Points for the classes, songs and even skits.
After their test, they each got a diploma, a little surprise and special activity night that included home made Pizza.

El Amor de una Madre

No hay nada que se pueda comparar
al amor de una madre;
Incondicional,
Puro,
Interminable,
Reconfortante,
